So, whenever I heard that Betsey Johnson was creating not one, but TWO inexpensive lines . . . I basically had a heart attack on the floor. My subconsious was on a shopping spree for the fabulous bargains. An inexpensive line from my idol was LONG overdue. More overdue than blankets with sleeves (God,why did I think of those wretched things???). Anyway, I got news of these via facebook and was exstatic to think that the "wild child innovator" of fashion finally jumped on the bandwagon. Who knows? Target seems to be the ringmaster these days of the circus of inexpensive designer hybrids. Maybe Betsey will strike a deal to offer her pieces in stores where the average American can just take a hop, skip and a jump to get to "Betseyville" heaven? Hey a girl can dream right?? Then I thought, okay Casey, inexpensive to you might be like merely under 500 dollars to the fashion execs in New York. As a positive suprise, guess what my fellow fashionistas?? UNDER 100 DOLLARS!!!! Holy Crap, they understand the potential buyer. I find this somewhat genius because think about it?? A Betsey orginal for less than a weeks worth of groceries?!?
From the looks of the line this doesnt look just like, oh well, it's inexpensive so lets make a cheaper looking version but itll still have her name on the label so itll all just be "handy dandy." Far from sterotype of inexpensive designer hybrids, my dears! It looks very preppy yet funky back to school in the 80s. Well, class in 5 minutes but I will update later, PEACE!

breaking out the boots
Fall has arrived again and, I find myself scavenging for the boots online and in my closet. I can't help
myself looking beyond the uggs. what other trends can contain my entusiiasm that dont involve 5 pounds of suede giving my feet heat rash. I love heels with a passion but, at 5'11'', sometimes, I don't enjoy people craining their necks to look up at me and hold a conversation for as long as their necks can hold up their heads. For my size, I would go to the 2'' heel so its not too tall, and the heel of the shoe doesn't get confused with a 5 year old's shoe, Flat boots can be great as long as they look fitted and don't look like you cut off the paws of a snow beast. I am really feeling the fringe trend for an on-the-go bohemian look especially with jeggings (jean leggings) and a ligh hued top and over sized vest to glam up the somewhat casual ensemble. For those night out on the town, I would step it up and rock the booties with a bow conventionally placed on the side to a flirty touch that doesn't over whelm the shoe, When looking at booties, go for one that has a slit along the tounge, or else you'll have that strange cut off on the ankle which makes your legs look shorter than they are and for a thin heel to elegonate the back of your legs. A shoe like that doesn't deserve to look like someone glued a block to the arch.
The only kind of boots that can pull off the block like heel is the kind that have the oxford design which should be worn as conservativly as the shoe was designed for, perhaps a sheer button up and a high waist skirt or pants? My style of choice would have to be the wedge heel (no sinking in the snow and easy to walk in, how can you beat that?). A cool trend I have stumbled upon is the corset lacing around the front for an edgy feel If I need a boost to a somewhat "safe" ensemble. How can you write and put your concentration on fall boots without mentioning the classic and sexy calf-length boot. I say calf length because I think that if you dare for thigh high you are trying for the "superwoman" look, which looks embarrasingly cheesy. Theres also rules when looking for the simply sexy calf length boots. To show off the legs, look for the ones that fit like a glove and not the ones that "wrinkle" or "cinch" in unsusually areas. They look unflattering on the legs, think of a garbage bag tied around your legs and wrinkled. Thats not flattering and does nothing for your style. Also think conventionally for your legs and feet, and give them room to breathe. You don't want to look like you taped plastic wrap to your feet. If you follow these steps and put your own spin on the styles, then YOU have mastered the footwear of the fall!

Missoni for Target
Fashionistas rejoice who share a "quite rare" appreciation for vintage inspired styles listen up! Fashion House Missoni has partnered with Target Corporation and launched an inexpensive, limited-edition line exclusively for Target. The line will be available from September 13 to October 22. Pending availability, some of the items from the collection, including some that are online only, will be available for an extended run through early december at Target.com. This is Target's largest limited edition collection to date and reflects the values of the Missoni label, including color, patterns, family and quality.
According to the NY Times, The brand was in so high demand that the website for target crashed from buyers scrambling for the luxury brand. One buyer of the brand states, “That was a nightmare,” she said. When she finally got onto the site, “at one point I was entering payment information, and it was gone.” Fans of the collection were furious about the site crashing because they expected from such a large retailer, to be able to handle the amount of buyers at once.“It’s a little bit embarrassing for one of the nation’s largest retailers to have a Web site that can’t support a rush — it’s not like they’re any strangers to rushes,” said Ian Schafer, chief executive of the digital marketing firm Deep Focus. “It’s saying, ‘We’re so popular we had to turn people away at the door.’ Then get a bigger place.”
Missoni is famous for its 60's style geometric prints and "knit" inspired patterns which ooze Italian luxury. there are over 400 pieces to choose from and prices for the line range from $2.99 to $599.99, and most of the items are under $40.00. Based on the era of the late 1960's which the brand was at an alltime high, the collection features interwinding bold colors and floral prints, for example blue, coral, purple and black. The collection not only offers various style of clothes, but products for at home decor including bedding, furniture, art and more! The legendary fashion house is a family run buisness lead by power house husband and wife Rosita and Octavio Missoni and started the buisness in the neighborhood of Varese in 1953 and headquarters are located in Milan, Italy. there are currenly 37 Missoni Boutiques in addition to department stores and retailers worldwide. The fashion house ranges from boho style dresses, swim wear, hoisery, sweaters, jackets and lingerie.
“Working with Target to create a mass collection that reflects the spirit of Missoni has been extremely energizing,” said Angela Missoni, daughter of Otavio and Rosita Missoni. “Each piece is special to me because so much thought and care went into every aspect of the design. I can’t wait to introduce the collection to Target’s guests across the United States.”

I have been a Fan of Missoni ever since I saw Fashion designer, Nicole Richie wear a dress of their in "OK Magazine" in 2008 and appreciate that the house is family run and a line so distinctive as Missoni maintain that trade mark of geometric knit prints and have that talent of "keeping up with the Jones's" of fashion is NOT an easy task and not everyone can do it. I highly respect designers who have had that "spark" of staying at the top of fashion's finest and become "legends" and "inspirations" for others who hope to reach that level of respect and gratitude that takes years of work.
“Target’s designer partnerships continue to set new standards, and we worked closely with Missoni to create a collection that brings the allure of their iconic Italian brand to our guests at remarkable prices,” said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president of merchandising, Target. “The quality and design of Missoni for Target are exceptional, and with more than 400 colorful pieces to choose from, our guests can experience a taste of ‘la dolce vita’ simply by shopping at Target.”
From looking through the line, I must say that this line is FABULOUS! The collection looks geunine to the luxury of the Missoni label and looks like something you could find in the high end vintage stores of L.A. Patterns through the clothes and home decor remind me of the swinging 60's with heavy eyelashes and half up-dos and dance to The Beatles at an underground club in the upper east side of New York. I will most defiently purcchase a piece for from the collection to store to my own "collection" and cherish a piece of affordable high fashion for the fall season.
